Spiritual Heart of India

The World's Oldest Living City

Varanasi — known as Kashi, Benares, and the City of Light — is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities on Earth. For more than 5,000 years, pilgrims, saints, scholars, and seekers have journeyed here in search of moksha, wisdom, and divine grace.

The 84 ghats stretching along the Ganga are the city's soul — each ghat with its own story, ritual, and energy. The morning boat ride, witnessing the Ganga Aarti as darkness falls, visiting the Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, and walking the ancient lanes are experiences that transform every visitor.

Our Kashi packages are designed with deep reverence for this sacred city, ensuring you experience its spiritual depth with expert guides who have grown up on these very banks.

Kashi Travel FAQs

Everything you need to know about visiting Varanasi

October to March is ideal — pleasant weather (15–25°C), major festivals including Dev Deepawali in November (spectacular floating diyas on the Ganga) and Maha Shivaratri in February/March. Avoid July–September (monsoon, Ganga floods). Summer is hot but crowds are lower.
Traditional Indian attire is recommended — kurta-pyjama, dhoti for men; salwar-kameez, saree for women. Shorts, sleeveless tops, and Western clothing are not permitted. We provide dhoti-dupatta sets if needed. Leather items and mobile phones are not allowed inside the temple sanctum.
The evening Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat begins at approximately 6:30 PM (varies by season). The morning aarti is at 5:00–5:30 AM. For the best experience, we book front-row seats on a boat on the Ganga itself — giving you an unobstructed view of the entire ceremony. Arrive 45 minutes early during peak season.
Yes, with a reputable operator. All our boat rides use government-registered wooden boats with certified oarsmen. Life jackets are available. We recommend sunrise rides (5–7 AM) when the Ganga is calmer and the light is magical. Evening rides are also popular. We do not recommend swimming in the Ganga.
Varanasi offers everything from heritage boutique guesthouses with Ganga views (our favourites: Brijrama Palace, Ganges View Guest House) to mid-range hotels and budget dharamshalas. We recommend staying in the old city (Godaulia area) for authentic experience. Luxury hotels are available in Cantonment area. We arrange all accommodation as part of our packages.
Minimum 3 nights / 4 days to cover the key experiences: Ganga Aarti (evening), sunrise boat ride, Kashi Vishwanath, Sarnath Buddhist site, heritage walk, and culinary trail. For a deeper spiritual immersion including outstation visits (Ayodhya, Prayagraj), 5–7 days is ideal. We offer packages from 2 nights to 10 nights.
